Are you an exceptional writer and content creator who would like to impact the effectiveness of school leadership across New Zealand? We are seeking a content and communications specialist to develop learning resources for school trustees, external providers and NZSTA staff. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the execution of NZSTA’s overall learning and development strategy.
Job Summary
This role involves copywriting, design and production of professional learning materials for a variety of platforms including webpages, SCORM files, social media, blogs, podcasts, video platforms, workbooks, infographics and more.
The successful candidate will have exceptional written and verbal communication skills and may have a background working in journalism, media or copywriting. They will approach tasks in a thoughtful, structured manner and will be able to present complex ideas in simple and engaging language. Importantly, they will be a key member of our head office team in Wellington and will share our values and passion for the purpose of our organisation.
This is a permanent full-time position which is based in our Wellington office on Lambton Quay.

New Zealand School Trustees Association (NZSTA) is a not for profit and membership-based national organisation representing the interests of its member boards.
NZSTA is the most influential leader of effective school governance in Aotearoa, embodying the intent of Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Its vision is to lead and strengthen school governance in New Zealand to ensure that all schools are effectively governed so that every student realises their highest possible educational potential.
What we’re looking for:
· Capability to visualise instructional end goals, creating content to match them, whilst tailoring content to specific audiences
· Experience writing to a publishable standard, with a conversational tone of voice, and the ability to simplify and explain complex ideas
· Ability to implement innovative and culturally responsive learning methodologies
· Experience in using Articulate 360 or the ability to learn and operate this system
· Skills to create supporting material, exercises and activities which enhance the learning process via audio, video, simulations, role plays, games etc
· An understanding of board or school governance
· A willingness to develop self and others
· A person who has knowledge and understanding of and commitment to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tikanga Māori would be an asset.
